I have 16GB of Ram...so Swappiness on my 500GB SSD is set at "1". If I had less Ram...then I would set it higher to say "10" / "20" or "60" the default. :D I did read a few articles on Swappiness when I first installed my SSD 17 month ago...so it's a matter of personal choice as to what is the best ...

Your system is DDR3...so Ram must be DDR3 and the same speed. If you intend to install 8GB of Ram...get 2x4GB sticks and install them is Ram Slots 1 and 3...gives you dual channel.
