Re: Broken Packages Notice when installing next Kernel {SOLVED}

Well, maybe it corrected itself then. I've noticed that if I reboot too soon after a kernel update I sometimes have problems (kernel panic, errors, etc.). So, best to wait a few minutes before rebooting.

It might help if you could post the actual message here. And give us the results of:

Re: Broke Cinnamon with Rosa and Then It Went Really Wrong

Are you on Mint 17.3? If so, that version is no longer supported. Best to install an 18 or 19 version.

Re: Broke Cinnamon with Rosa and Then It Went Really Wrong

See if you can restore it with Timeshift. If not, a reinstall of Mint might be best.

Re: Unknown Installation Issue

I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but a couple of things to note. If it's an old laptop, Mint Mate or Xfce might be a better choice than Cinnamon. Also, you don't want 17.3 which no longer gets updates. Go with 18 or 19.

Re: My laptop stucked during the shutdown.

Ok, sorry nothing seems to have worked for you. I would say maybe try a different kernel, but that might be risky since you can't seem to even boot into grub.

Re: My laptop stucked during the shutdown.

Are you using the Nvidia driver in Driver Manager? If not, try that, seems to solve shutdown for some.

Re: My laptop stucked during the shutdown.

You can try holding the Shift key down during boot & see if that gets you into Grub. I have just tried this as well. I saw the message "Grub Loading", and everything looks black, and I received the login to Cinnamon screen. Thank you. Not sure if it matters, but be sure you are pressing the right h...

Try switching to a different Mirror in Software Sources, then click 'Update the cache'. See if updates work after that.
