im kindof dissapointed that the bugs werent sorted for gutsy Welcome to the club :? ... I find those bugs extremely annoying. Especially this one: They disabled the framebuffers! Re: Time Limit Software

Hi... Does anyone know if there's any linux software for limiting or monitoring the time users (kids) spend using the computer workrave .... It's in the repos (install via Synaptic). Detailed infos here: http://www.workrave.org We could also think of radical steps .... It's easy to write a shell sc...

Looks like WiFi support is not enabled in your kernel? Please post your kernel ".config" file here ... it's probably somewhere in /usr/src/linux-(your-kernel-version).

Re: What file system? ext3, reiser, xfs?, which one to choos

I always use ext3 but I was wondering which filesystem is the best for Celena? If you don't know it ... stick to ext3. Ext2: The fastest of them all. But it is not journaled and considered "obsolete" now. Requires lengthy filesystem checks after a crash (and also in regular intervals!) and can lose...

Open a terminal and type this:

Code: Select all

gstreamer-properties
... then select the "Video" tab and check if any of the other settings there would help.

So in order to remain ready whenever I find some interesting software or game to install to my Mint desktop I request you to provide me with a complete list of codes or commands I suggest you buy a book and read it. :D And besides, there is a manual to everything: man CommandYoureInterestedToKnowAb...

I love Babylon 5 for the same reasons. Star Trek annoyed the crap out of me because of their "fighter plane" flying (with the notable exception of Wrath of Khan) I could forgive Star Buck being a (very sexy...I wonder if that was a coincidence?) woman because the of Newtonian physics lol :D Starbuc...

Babylon 5...Here I come :D Ah come on. X3 doesn't even have Newtonian physics ... The "Independence War" series has. What made Babylon 5 so special was that they tried hard to make space battles 'realistic', e.g. fighters could spin around and shoot at the enemies behind them flying "backwards", th...

Re: Issues a couple :(

Read about it in some ubuntu forums that you need to create a directory with the name `uname -r` in the /lib/firmware directory, and move all the firmware there. Which i did and rebooted but nothing happened. See the link in my previous posting. Could be that you got the wrong firmware version too....

So what does that mean? Try this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=204004 The hotplug system needs to load firmware binaries (= low-level drivers to init the hardware) and with a custom kernel it can't find it anymore. I could imagine that the solution for your problem is the same to...

ah OK, this means you installed it via the Ubuntu repos? In that case the package manager took care of everything. Did you try the VMware forums? There are some interesting discussions that seem to deal with the error message you have. e.g.: http://communities.vmware.com/message/696730#696730 http:/...
