Re: Linux Mint 7 "Gloria" x64 released!

Of course it's the stable one... otherwise it would have been called an RC :)

Re: Firefox 3.5 Final

It's not Mint-ready yet, so a bit of patience and FF 3.5 will be ready in the repos and visible in the what you call little lock :)

It's very nice. Ubuntu and Mint at once as wallpaper, but Mint as engine ;)

Re: mint default theme has difficult contrast.

I agree with you and I have tried to find a good solution. I found it in using the Sand theme. Looks cool and has an even better feeling!

Strange remark, that last one. Why not say Linux Mint makes the best effort? Because that is what it's doing.

Re: The great green hope

Is it so that every PC in Iran already has Linux Mint? ;) What a disgrace that country. I now feel that I support the thinking crowd by using Mint!

That Ubuntu updates are installed is quite normal. Mint is Ubuntu Plus.

De hoge plaats bij Distrowatch geeft volgens mij aan dat het erg lekker gaat met Mint. En terecht :)

Re: Linux Mint 7 x64 RC1 released!

I expect that the RC1 will change into the final version without a hitch. Same happened with the 32bit version. So the 64 bit version is on my pc since it arrived on the servers. And that was a few days before the official announcement. And no problem that can't be solved :)

Re: Linux Mint 7 x64 RC1 released!

The RC1 is in fact Ubuntu 9.04 64bit with the Mint things in it. That means that even the RC1 is almost as stable as the ice rock that sank Titanic ;)

As I noticed when I installed the 64 version there is no migration possible for files and such, so save your home dir on a second disc or partition or big usb stick and install the 64 bit version.

Re: Linux Mint 7 x64 RC1 released!

As there are hardly any problems with the RC1 I guess and hope that we will get the so called final just through the updates, like it happened with the 32bit version.

Re: How to configure the new notification system? (Gloria)

Why they didn't kept the old one in place is a mystery to me. That one did okay, wasn't broken or whatever and now we have that ugly black thing in the right upper corner.... What a shame. And the ignorance on the side of the Canonical people is unbelievable. It really looks as if Ubuntu and with th...
