Re: [SOLVED] Not printing in 18.02

pdc_2, I noticed that, also. Cups and python are fubar. Maybe updating/reinstalling those two may resolve some if not all dependencies. But, the printer prints, regardless. Go figure. I believe he missed this section that I posted earlier (very important, which reflects the python dependencies.) Man...

Re: Not printing in 18.02 solved

Exactly what worked to get it up and running, so others will be able to fix the same issue?
Glad it worked out for you.

Re: Bluetooth - no adapters found!

Bluetooth Patch
You can use new kernels, but you will need to patch to get bluetooth working.

You could try the Bluetooth patch, but I don't know if it will work in all kernels.

Re: how to add "scroll buttons" or "scroll arrows" to Office and Firefox

Thank you so much for this addition. It has been very annoying that all Linux programs do not have scrolling arrows on the right-side of apps, thereby making me cursor-grab the scroll bar and move it up and down manually, therefore causing the window to go "scroll crazy" whenever I need to...

Re: How can I hide my online activities from my ISP?

I use a paid VPN from another country that deletes their log files every day. I also "Firejail" all apps that access the internet. I use Gufw firewall, I use TOR and TAILS (USB). etc. etc. But, in the end, am I really "safe" from the long arm of the "Law"? Is anyone? We...

Re: System not shutting down - 'gnome-keyring-daemon not responding'

I have this same problem on one of my 4 Linux Mint Cinnamon 64-bit laptops. That specific laptop worked fine shutting down and restarting, then something happened (I don't know what or why). Sometimes the "keyring" message appears and I click "shutdown anyway", then it gets to th...

Re: Lock after waking up from suspend with "rtc_cmos" message

RTC is the Real Time Clock or the CMOS battery, whick store the hardware settings via the BIOS chip. The RTC/CMOS battery only lasts about 3-5 years. Some are rechargeable, most are not. Most laptops/desktops use a CR2032 3volt "nickel" battery, often wrapped in plastic coating with a red ...

Re: Long Live Linux

Thanks everyone, for the welcomes. Yep, Linux has come a long, long way, and with so many Linux OS Distros, the choice is sometimes overwhelming to newbies. But, Linux Mint is by far the most user-friendly with all the features I like. It does everything that Windows does, even more, and even better...

Long Live Linux

I have been using PCs before Win95, before Win3.1, back in the Terminal days. I used to program in Fortran, Cobol, Basic and RPG(?)...haaaaaaaa, it's been quite a while since then, too many bridges crossed & corners turned. I have found that Linux Mint Cinnamon 64-bit works for me. I have 4 Dell...
