Re: PDF printing and conversion is unacceptable

Hi kc1di,

acroread is installed. It's not the document viewer that's the problem. It's something in the conversion process from .ps to .pdf.

PDF printing and conversion is unacceptable

Hi, Whenever I use ps2pdf or print a web page to a pdf the output is terrible. The tops of the pages get cut off, large images have had lines through them, and the page does not look like it does in the browser. Is there something configured wrong? Do I need to update? If so, how, and what, do I upd...

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Last I knew you switched to 7. But that was a while ago. By the way what theme is that? The theme is called Elementary by DanRabbit. You can get it on his deviantArt page . Or use Ubuntu Tweak and add the PPA. Easiest option. Yeah I was using 7 for a while... very nice OS if I must say. But I was a...

Tablet PCs and Linux Mint

Hi,

I understand that Linux tends to have limited hardware support for tablet PCs, but I just wanted to ask if I bought, say, this notebook, does anyone have any idea if I'd be able to get the stylus and screen switching to work under Mint?

Thanks for any input,

Tim

Re: Jack server won't start

Oh damn that was the wrong link. Sorry. Yeah I entered the #jack on irc.freenode.net and got help there. I'm starting Jack through jackd -R -d alsa in the console. For some reason starting the GUI doesn't work. I also had to make sure I was a part of the audio group. To get real time support I had t...

Re: No end of trouble with Cups

I tried that once and it didn't seem to work. Maybe restarting my machine helped. At any rate it's working now RedWagon. Thanks for responding!

Re: Some Compiz Questions

Couldn't seem to find anything relating directly to my questions. If there isn't an option available by default in Compiz I'll just let it go and put up with it.

Maybe I'll submit them as bug reports.

Some Compiz Questions

Two things: What can I do to get my Screenlets to appear on top of my windows? And what do I need to do to get my windows to be displayed, instead of the icons, in something like the taskbar preview, or the Ring Switcher, when they're minimized? Right now all that's shown is the icon the window is u...

Ethernet not working in Mint 7 Guest under OS X

Hi, I have a Mac that I'm running Linux Mint Gloria on with VirtualBox 2.2. The network settings are default for VirtualBox, and the guest drivers have been installed... but for some reason the ethernet/network/internet connectivity does not work with any program (FF, Opera, Synaptic). It shows it a...

Re: Mini Mint

Try CrunchBang. It's minimalist enough. All the video codecs and things are included in the release just like Mint.
