Re: OpenVPN: Don't redirect everything through tunnel

Hi, To be honest, I have little experience using systemd, I do it like described here: https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn/blob/master/distro/systemd/README.systemd Same for clients. That way I have full control over the config, so I do not use Network Manager. I also use .bash_aliases to stop/start ...

Re: OpenVPN: Don't redirect everything through tunnel

Hi, IP forwarding wasn't enabled, I enabled it now. ("sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward=1" enabled it temporary, for testing, will make it persistent now I guess) Any time you need traffic to flow between different interfaces, in this case between enp1s0 and tun0, you need ip_forward enabled. I didn't s...

Re: OpenVPN: Don't redirect everything through tunnel

Let's first check the server: Add to it's config log /var/log/openvpn.log route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 push "route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0" and change verb 3 to verb 4 Do a full restart of the OpenVPN server and post the /var/log/openvpn.log 1. Is ip_forward enabled? cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_f...

Re: OpenVPN: Don't redirect everything through tunnel

Ok, step by step.

In server config file change

Code: Select all

;topology subnet
to

Code: Select all

topology subnet
The LAN where the server resides, is it 192.168.10.0 or 192.168.122.0?
Also post a drawing of your network topology.

Re: UFW blocked connection, what is this connection?

So the concern is log spam?
If so, create a rule on Mint allowing that traffic or block it in Windows Firewall.

It seems i'm not able to block that probing/scanning on router level.
A router is not involved in traffic on the same subnet.

Re: VPN Recommendations Needed!

Since you write about VPN and DDNS, you want to access your home network from outside your home?

Re: Global DNS configuration

Yes, that's possible.
Edit the file

Code: Select all

/etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf
add the following lines

Code: Select all

supersede domain-name-servers ipv4.dns.address.no1, ipv4.dns.address.no2;
supersede dhcp6.name-servers ipv6.dns.address.no1, ipv6.dns.address.no2;
Also see

Code: Select all

man dhclient
man dhclient.conf

Second drive stopped working.

Hi, Mint 18.3. After today’s Timeshift update the second SSD is having problems, could be coincidence off course. Edit: This drive is being used for Timeshift. Re: Run openvpn client without sudo

On my Synology NAS OpenVPN is handled by Apparmor. I'm on 18.3 and Apparmor is installed by default but no Apparmor profile for OpenVPN. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AppArmor # apparmor_status apparmor module is loaded. 13 profiles are loaded. 13 profiles are in enforce mode. /sbin/dhclient /usr/lib/Netw...

Re: Looking to automate my tethered internet connection.

You could try, if on Android, the App Automate.
It can switch on USB tethering automatically according to the description.

Another option seems to be Android Tasker.

Keywords:
android <automate> <tasker> switch on usb tether
