Re: Canon Printers can't install

thanks Billy;

if usb connected, one will be called lp0 and the next will be lp1

but be aware that whichever is lp0 will always be seen as that; so if you turn on what is lp1 as the first to turn on, the system will not print; lp0 must always be turned on first;

Re: Canon Pixma MG7750 - usb - will scan but not print

Canon do a driver for this MG7700 series device what about installing that driver and evaluating it? If you go here https://asia.canon/en/support/0100690202/1 and click to download and save what will be cnijfilter2-5.20-1-deb.tar.gz (so it is a generic driver Canon have taken to issuing in recent ye...

Re: LBP6000 Printer does not work

so this a different way of reporting; than in older versions; previously it would have said Canon Printer Daemon for CUPS: ccpd: 8956 8954 ..... there should be two sets of 4-digit numbers; (the actual numbers can vary .....) The old advice was also to do gedit /etc/ccpd.conf so that uses the text e...

LBP6000 Printer needs the Canon instructions

so Canon say you need to do the following steps: 1) download and install the drivers; 2) Register the printer (PPD) with the print spooler. 3) Register the printer in the ccpd daemon setup file. 4) Start ccpd daemon. I suggest you delete the existing entry; as it is not working; and start again: I d...

Re: [Solved?] Linux Mint 19 and Canon MF244dw

so this seems curious; 2 separate installs of Mint 19; on the first one, the 244 did not work; on the second install, it did;

and both were the most recent 3.6 UFR driver; were both 64bit installs, of the same DE? .. ie mate or cinnamon?

Laser Jet 1320n

you are selecting a 1320 driver; underneath that is a 1320n, and you say that is what your machine is: what selection do you get if you choose that please ? I would go for the simplest hpcups variant; ie 3.17.10 or whatever it is that should mean hplip ..... many of the others are open-source drivers;

Re: Brother MFC-J480DW Won't Install?

so as I understand it; to be able to use a printer in linux; in general one needs to: 1) install the drivers 2) register the printer with lpadmin ........ so it knows which ppd file to use when you say "Use the BROWN printer" ... it has already learnt and says to itself; ..... ah, at the beginning, ...
