Re: Video works but has no sound

If you go to Sound & Video; Pulse Audio VOlume Control: Playback (most left of the tabs);

start some video with sound; right click on the sound stream in playback; do you get an option to move stream? Do any of the selections help?

Re: HP Pavilion DV7 MINT 7 - no sound

this was intended to be a flowchart for trying to solve sound problems;

do you want to have a go at working through it, and see if the diagnostics are any use?

Re: web cam in mint7? need help

glad it is running well;

do you want to tell us the
lsusb
for the Vendor ID: Product ID

it may match one on here

http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#devices

eg the Logitech QuickCam E 3500 has the ID
046d:09a4
and seems fully UVC compliant and gets a big tick on the UVC website

Re: WebCams

hi lagagnon; which part of that thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=547944&page=2 do you think is the most telling? hi barb; looks like its Vendor ID: Product ID should be 046d:0990 from here http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#devices so that should mean it is UVC-compliant; which means .........

Re: problem with mint 7 and Logitech Quickcam Express

if you type lsusb into a terminal, it will tell you the Vendor ID and product ID of your webcam; (hopefully); if it is gspca it will show up here http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html and if UVC compliant http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#devices (use the FIND function on firefox to help you) if you post b...

we used this guide http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-get-atheros-ar5007eg-or-ar242x-wireless-cards-may-be-other-models-working-in-ubuntu-810-intrepid-ibex.html to install the requisite drivers to a MoonOS on an ASUS: reason is the MoonOS is a light LXDE distro; but it did not have the atheros drivers...
