Re: Acer Aspire One AOA 150-1635 Wireless

you are brand-new to linux; you have chosen to install Mint; seems you have put an older version of Mint in; your computer has the Atheros wireless card in it; latest releases of various distros support this out of the box; eg our ASUS Eee has this card; easy peasy, cruncheee Eeebuntu, all run that ...

Re: web cam in mint7? need help

this camera doesn't seem to appear in the latest UVC compliant list; http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#devices or the latest gspca list http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html so I would suggest you have two choices: 1) go test a camera off the top list: UVC compliant and it should work out of the box; if it...

Re: Acer Aspire One AOA 150-1635 Wireless

more reading! You have put on Mint 6; it has now been superseded by Mint 7, based I understand on the latest Ubuntu; if you go to the Ubuntu support page for the Aspire One https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne you find wifi is supported out of the box: there is a specific notebook variant fro...

Re: Acer Aspire One AOA 150-1635 Wireless

Arch Linux has a page on how to set up an Acer Aspire One: it has detailed discussion on wireless network http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Acer_Aspire_One#Network they say: AA1 wireless device is a rather new Atheros wireless chip not supported by Linux kernel until version 2.6.27. Before that an...

Liam Green-Hughes in this blog last year talked about usb-modeswitch http://www.greenhughes.com/content/huawei-e169g-easy-way at that stage he was recommending to download and install the package that he had developed: these modems seem to act in two ways: as storage for windows drivers, and then mo...

If the two questions help you, this post http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=13361&p=154014 may guide you;

actually I see Epson make printer drivers for what you proposed

http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/ink/DL1.do

so that printer should be fine to go on Mint

Re: SOLVED Digital Camera identified but unable to download

our Panasonic Lumix camera is the same; but F-Spot is happy with that; we just select PTP; and digikam is similarly happy; both programmes will download happily; we now use digikam as F-Spot was not happy to show us full frame; Picasso and digikam were happy; (I had previously used F-Spot till we go...
