Re: Canon Pixma MG2520 Scanner - Device Not Found

I wonder if can plug the Canon DIRECTLY into a usb port; one that you know is working; then try the

Code: Select all

lsusb
again in different ports

(wondering if it is plugged into a usb hub .. sometimes folks report issues there ..)

I am not sure what you mean by this; If the printer is usb connected; and was plugged in; and turned on; when you ran the lsusb command; then something strange is going on as it should say ID 04a9:176d Canon Inc .... and ...

Re: Canon Pixma MG2520 Scanner - Device Not Found

so SANE should support this device; if you do look at ScanGearMP from Canon; if I go to Canon Europe, they say; for MG2500series; to use a 2500-specific version of ScanGear; so as they make the hardware, and supply the software, I suppose we should follow this advice .. if one wants to install it so...

Re: Canon Pixma MG2520 Scanner - Device Not Found

for a canon printer to scan you need a program called scangear It is very true that Canon provide scanner drivers for linux; and also that the open-source support team work hard to ensure SANE covers as many devices as possible; so SANE feel the MG2500 series should be fully supported; MG2500.png I...
