I only installed it to do the Mint 20 upgrade, I've removed it since.
You installed it so if something went wrong for whatever reason you could revert back to where you were but you say it's a pos?

Re: My laptop is running on linux mint 20 Xfce but it’s booting time and startup takes 3min.

systemd-analyze Startup finished in 6.154s (kernel) + 45.432s (userspace) = 51.586s graphical.target reached after 35.088s in userspace This output you posted does not equal 3 minutes. Your stop watch includes everything from bios to whenever you stop timing. I see less than a minute once it starts...

Re: Timeshift and the Settings

Ok so what I do now is if I'm going to drop old snapshots I delete them first then create my newest one. Not sure if I need to. Worried if I create one then delete older ones, that stuff will be missing since when I made the new one it was there then not there after when I deleted There's no need t...

Re: How to select and move all files from select folders

Using your file browser there is a search function which you can use to search for files, you can use *.png * being the wild card meaning any name here that ends in .png . Then you can select one of the files it finds to highlight it and use cntrl+a to select all files found in the search. Then righ...

Re: System froze hard

I was having daily freezes on my amd6300 PC with the latest kernel and rolled back to the prior kernel. Problem solved for that pc. I don't know if it is the same for you but thought I'd throw that out there.

Don't forget to use timeshift, it is very useful especially when delving into editing system files like you attempted to do. Also make a new flash drive of your mint.

Re: Why does Linux Mint include Timeshift when the main developer doesn't have the time to maintain it?

From the looks of what you did I don't think it would boot if it did restore from an apparent bad snapshot. When you "Wiped" the SSD and reinstalled it assigned new UUID's to the partition/partitions you created. The old snapshot has the old UUID's and will fail to boot. I don't understand why you ...

You requested an explanation of UUID's on your other thread posted on here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universally_unique_identifier There are several people on this forum that have a lot more experience than I could ever hope to have and pbear is one of them. They volunteer their time to help pe...
