Re: New to Mint 19.1 Tessa

Thanks, but as I wrote in the last post, that IS what I did. Clicked on "Office Writer" and "add to panel" but what shows up on the panel is a group of three icons, which are in a dark panel of their own, and clicking on any or all of them does nothing. The exact same thing happens with anything th...

Re: Hidden Folders and Browser Upload File Dialog Browsers

I have some hidden folders (e.g. /.Current Materials_USE THESE/) that I might need to select a file from. I have Nemo set to show hidden files. Browsers don't respect that setting and thus if I try to navigate to a hidden folder, there is not way to navigate to it. I just get the folder tree on the...

Re: Why did you decide to install Linux Mint??

MOUSEJACKING First I've heard of that one. Not sure how one would do that without visual access to the display though, or together with another form of remote hack .. and the victim is likely to spot the pointer moving around "on its own" ..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXjQh_bq...

You can also use the update manage itself to remove old kernels. Open the update manager and click on "View/Linux Kernels and in that window you can select the ones you want to remove.

this should get you going in the direction you are wanting, If you can't share or find the Folder you already have created then it is a sharing issue.

Did you install the VNC Plugin for Remmina?
A Ubuntu 16.04 on the same network connects fine to the remote
Can you copy the .Remmina folder from the Ubuntu 16.04 PC to the one your trying to get to work? The .Remmina folder located in your Home folder has the configure files in it.

Re: First post - Warranty voided if Mint installed on new laptop?

I would get the new laptop in and power it up and let it run for a week straight. (using it all you can stomach with win10) Typically if it lasts through the first week then it should be a good unit. The problem with "If it breaks just reload windows in it" can prove to be a problem if it is broken.

Re: Linux Mint 18.3 Start Menu is backwards

I installed, then uninstalled a flatpak program, and afterwards, I see that my Start Menu has reversed itself. The Program Categories are over on the far right, and my favorites are now on the left. If I click on a Category, it also shows up on the left side. Please see attached image .....Screensh...
