Re: CPU Microcode

you simply go to driver manager and choose don't update microcode and hit apply it will be removed. I did that when I installed the Microcode, Turn off the computer and then turn it on... tried playing videos again and the flickering was there still. Re: CPU Microcode

I've always installed the microcode on my installs. And have never seen a problem. Not sure it will really do much for performance though but it's a good idea for security reasons. And yes you can reverse it easily. How could I reverse it in case it does not work well? Now I remember what happened ...

Re: CPU Microcode

The only real hard and fast rule I kinow of is to check the BIOS date which can be done with inxi -Fxz in the terminal. If the firmware update is dated earlier than the BIOS date, don't do it. I think you can revert microcode updates, try a site specific search of this forum (the built in search st...

Re: Swappiness change

Do you think with a swap partition of 2GB it's enough for my computer to work well? I have adjusted the swappiness to 30, since I tried to decrease it to 10, but started to work slower everytime I oppened few apps. Do you think if I make a swap partition of at least 4GB that would make my compuer r...

Re: Swappiness change

As mentioned swappiness doesn't have anything to do with how much RAM you have, it decides when to write to swap depending on how much free RAM is availabe. See here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwapFaq#What_is_swappiness_and_how_do_I_change_it.3F Setting swappiness to 10 isn't correct for ev...

Re: Swappiness change

Hi toolrick As has already been mentioned, the size of your swap file/partition (2GB, 4GB, 6GB, etc) is different from how often (frequent) data is written (60, 30, 10, etc). You might say it can be compared to a 2 gallon, 4 gallon, or 6 gallon fuel tank, and at what rate it gets emptied, 10 minute...

Re: Please help with Bluetooth

The process is explained @http://askubuntu.com/a/632348/300665 for another broadcom device but it usually the same, search the inf file for the last 4 digits of your USB ID until you find the corresponding RAMUSB header and below it will be the name of the hex file you need to convert to BCM.hcd in...

Re: Bluetooth Broadcom 43142 no funciona

Algunos equipos tienen...
