Hi loodi i had same prob with my nvidia.Answer is after installing nvidia driver set from envy you ve to configure xorg.conf bye adding few lines in device section n make your default depth 24 ie true color in screen section.Pls see my posting here with community answers your beryl ll work definatel...

Hi as per my knowledge beryl needs latest graphics thats why it showing ya white screen.Well there is one gnome application known as 3Ddesktop its nice tool.Take a try on it.

Hi GFXboot is nice idea but as i heard grub is more stable than any other boot loader.N other hand you can make your grub fancy too by adding boot splash image.It looks nice too.

It that only right click on desktop n say keep align .For launcher menu right click on that n set properties
