Re: Easiest way to share files between Android phone and Linux Mint XFCE over wifi?

for me, after a lot of messing around, the simplest thing is to do it from the phone with ASUS File Manager. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asus.filemanager no cables needed, just a common WiFi connection. use it 100s of times a day. Hi AZgl1500, The Asus file manager looks inter...

Re: Easiest way to share files between Android phone and Linux Mint XFCE over wifi?

Might want to take a look at SAMBA https://www.samba.org/ This looks tough enough for me itself. I don't think my parents would be able to use this. My personal choice for an easy solution in this case would be Airdroid ... https://www.airdroid.com/ First thing I tried from all the solutions. Sadly...

Re: Easiest way to share files between Android phone and Linux Mint XFCE over wifi?

Dukto will transfer files between just about any two systems. The Asus file manager is nice too. You just activate it and it gives you an IP address to connect to, and away you go.
I tried to install Duktoo. But it is only available till Ubuntu 16.04. How do I install it on mint xfce 19?

How do I make custom emblems bigger?

Mint xfce 19. I am able to assign custom emblems to folder. I want to know if it is possible to make the emblems bigger so that they cover the entire folder like the default ones do? I think I have done this is cinnamon before and I wanted to know if XFCE allows it as well?

Easiest way to share files between Android phone and Linux Mint XFCE over wifi?

Whats the easiest way for me to share files between Android phone and Linux Mint 19 XFCE. It should also let my parents use it effortlessly so things like ftp applications etc are out. They are used to using Shareit application to connect to Windows in the past.

Re: XAMPP setup error: failed to execute default web browser input/output error

Update: I proceeded ahead with the installation anyway and everything worked fine. I got the same error as above a second time but it did not make any difference.

Wow. People have been requesting this for 11 years now and are ready to pay for this but the devs have completely ignored them.

The relevant feature request is 11 years old..... :D XFCE development is at a very slow pace.... https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3521 What you can do in Thunar preferences is change the default view from 'Last Active' to one of your preference so at least a change for one folder doesn't c...

I don't think XFCE/Thunar provides this option.

Mate/Caja and Cinnamon/Nemo both allow for per folder view preferences.
Is there any way I can change this? XFCE is perfect for me otherwise. But I can't believe it doesn't allow for per folder view preferences in 2018.

Click View then use the Zoom In or Zoom Out function
No, you missed the point completely. I know how to increase the icon sizes. The problem is, if i change the size in any 1 folder, the same size gets applied to the entire computer, every single directory, and every single file in it

XFCE. How to different icon sizes for different folders?

Hi fresh Mint 19 XFCE install. If I keep large icons in /home, the same gets applied to every folder and file inside /home. How do I avoid this? Because for some folders I may want a list view, for some I might want small icons and for some large. How do I keep a folders appearance setting applicabl...

Re: Is it OK to do a fresh install of Linux Mint 19 or are there still issues going on?

I did an install of Mint 19 Cinnamon on a USB stick last night. I did turn off the network and then did the updates after a reboot. Runs like a top now 8) 8) Fantastic. I'm about to install 19 Mate. I wonder if I have to do an offline update or if the problem has been solved with the new v2 iso?

Is it OK to do a fresh install of Linux Mint 19 or are there still issues going on?

Been reading about problems and issues with both a fresh install as well as an upgrade for the past few weeks. I am planning to do a fresh install of Linux Mint 19, not decided if cinnamon or mate yet, I wanted to know if the kinks and glitches have been sorted out the by Mint team?
