Re: New System build and NVMe PCIe M.2 Support

On Amazon your chosen mobo has mixed reviews on installing Linux. Not to start a opinion war, but I've never had a problem with Asrock mobos and Linux, but I have had them with other brands. I usually search the reviews at Newegg and Amazon for others experiences installing Linux. What CPU are you g...

Re: What crashed my Mint? Mint Keeps freezing (nothing works mouse or keyboard)

Is this a dual boot setup? I assume it is a desktop computer? Have you tried reverting it to an earlier time using Timeshift? Of course your keyboard needs to function to do that. Can you boot into the live installer (that you used to install Mint)? If so Timeshift can be used there for recovery. Ju...

Re: HP500-xx Compatible with Mint?

Was this a default install with erase the disk and install Mint, or was it a dual boot configuration? Is there a newer firmware update for the motherboard available? You'd have to temporarily put Windows back on it to upgrade the firmware I think.

Does the laptop have the same version of Mint on it. Let us know if another keyboard does the same thing. Also have you tried a different USB port and then power off PC and start again?

Can you try a mouse instead? Are you using single or double click? If single, try double.

Re: ASUS UX533 laptop fan not working

Have you updated the laptop's motherboard firmware to the newest version. Asus supplies a bootable OS independent update for your laptop.
I think this is probably the right one, although it says its for 15 UX533FD

Re: Cannot get system to wake up from suspend

Sometimes there is a need for a work around. When I install Mint on a person's laptop and it won't wake up from sleep, I just set the power manager to not sleep, and instead just have the monitor turn off, also set closing the lid to not sleep as well. Seems some laptop hardware doesn't fully have s...

Re: HP500-xx Compatible with Mint?

Well, I had several laptops that either people brought me or I bought for myself that I could not install Mint on. With that said, most laptops have been okay. Did you try disabling secure boot in the motherboards firmware? Also there may be secure boot keys in the BIOS that can be cleared. Did this...

Try going to settings and at the bottom open Driver Manager (supply password). See if it has an option to install or use a driver. If so try it. When you did the install, did you put a checkmark in install third party software?

Keep it. A future firmware update might fix it. OK, but I can't really mark this thread as SOLVED, can I? By "firmware" update, do you mean "kernel" or something to do with my laptop? I do all recommended updates when notified. cheers.. Yes if you watch, firmware updates happen ...
