I have sometimes used my mobile phone hooked up to computer with a USB cable ...... depends whereabouts in AUstralia you live ...... and what the relative cost/reliability of ISP vs Mobile network is. ie sometimes in the middle of nowhere the telcos mobil...

Thanks. Job Done - vanilla flavoured beside windows install - didn't have to do any work myself. It all just happened. Yippeee !................. and a persistent USB install also worked - might be able to use that on my Aldi Unisurf laptop Now off to see if Linux can see my 500GB External Maxtor Ha...

DMI Table is Broken Stop

Well .... Decided to have a go got to the last screen and this message came up in the 2nd box -Invalid-entry-length-0-DMI-table-is-broken-Stop I can only kill the screen it wont let me "back out" So ...... are there any installation processes that I need to go in and kill before I shut the screen do...

Thanks for the suggestions ...... Gotta admit am started to get a bit daunted by the mess that I have made and the danger of making things worse by further errors. Is there another way out of this ........ something a bit simpler for a newb ..... i.e Delete or format the partitions with Windows disk...

Thanks gm10 Did some googling found the UEFI boot order under system configuration accessed it by hitting escape on startup then F10 Current list written out below - UBUNTU not an option here yet it is an option under the restart system screen. Thanks for all the suggestions. Initial solve is done by increasing height of the supertray. Will investigate the other recommendations after I find out more about this TV set. Plugged in a USB mouse and will forget about the trackpad for the moment.
