Re: Software to import MS Access DB from late 90s?

Thanks for the quick reply. I read the link, it doesn't look like I can salvage the contents of the DB, but rather its structure which isn't useful to me. I'm thinking to try running Win 98 in a virtualbox and try that route, but then how will I export it to something that will recognize it today. :...

Software to import MS Access DB from late 90s?

I was able to rescue a HDD from a tower PC I had in the late 90's, pretty sure it ran Win 98. I have a lot of MS Access databases I created with it (.mdb) and I have no idea how to import them to LM, or if that's even possible. Is there such software or do I just forget about the contents?

How to install a downloaded program

I have downloaded it from a page. It's not in the Downlaod folder, how do I find where it is? It then says this: Compiling ~~~~~~~~~ You will need the following libraries : Allegro 4.x OpenAL ALut Zlib and their dependencies. How many Linux Installs can I have on one drive?

Let's say I have Ubuntu 18.04 and LM Cinnamon. Can I insall LM MATE?
I asked a question yesterday If I could just switch DE on the fly, and the replies kind of made me nervous so I've opted to fully install these 3. WIll GRUB recognisance them as 3 installs that I can chose? Is there a limit?

Re: Cinnamon vs Xfce min. sys requirements?

Thanks. Yes it has Intel integrated graphics. If I were to upgraded to 4GB RAM, would I be able to comfortably use Cinnamon or is the CPU too old?

Cinnamon vs Xfce min. sys requirements?

Hi everyone. I have Installed the latest LM using Cinnamon and I'm very impressed. I also have an older core2duo laptop that has 2GB RAM and was wondering which of these 2 DEs I should install, If there is any difference at all.
TIA!
