Re: Hello From Ireland

That's what I meant yeah sorry, you can't type "sudo apt install etc." into Windows and have it install software for you  I have installed a few .deb files in Mint and seen some of the standalone programs you can execute, but I find being able to do stuff in the terminal and learning about ...

Hello From Ireland

Hi there everyone. I only joined this forum a few days ago and I'm still fairly new to the world of Linux. I know a little about it from experimenting over the last couple of years a little, but I've only recently gotten into properly trying it out. I feel like the OS is a lot better than Windows, e...

Re: Mint 19 Cinnamon Changing Colours

i like green but it's only good in contrast with dark themes Yeah I agree with that. I like how pure green #00FF00 looks, but it's too bright to use because with so much onscreen it hurts your eyes and you can't read the white fonts that overlay it. That's why I'm using a darker green instead for t...

Re: How to setup the Xbox One controller on Linux Mint

When I plug my Xbox One controller in (the S model I got with my Xbox One X) it works and picks up as xinput, but when using Wine, the games are picking up that I'm holding RT and the mapping for the sticks and back/start buttons are messed up. What's the easiest way to fix this? I never got it to w...

Re: Mint 19 Cinnamon Changing Colours

Thanks, I'll look into it. I've taken an interest in using Linux lately and just want to try learn some of these basic things about it :)

Mint 19 Cinnamon Changing Colours

I'm just wondering if there's an easier way to customise the theme colours on Cinnamon to your liking or if the best way is just backing up the themes css file and experimenting? I basically want a solid colour (no gradient) and was using Mint-Y while making some changes. If it has to be done this w...

Re: Stuttering In Wine/Proton Games

Sorry for the double post, but I just want to let you all know that for the Cemu emulator I was trying, the older version runs 100% perfect through wine :P I guess it was just an issue with the newer version somehow. I noticed freesync doesn't work on these open source Mesa drivers, is it possible t...

Re: Stuttering In Wine/Proton Games

That's understandable, it was just because I'd seen others post on reddit that it worked for them on Proton that I thought I'd ask. GTA stutters massively. A lot of games seem to hitch a little though, is that just normal when using Wine? Even older games and some emulators would judder slightly too...

Stuttering In Wine/Proton Games

Hi all. I've messed about with Linux before here and there but I'm fairly new to using it as a main OS. Basically I have this issue where I get stuttering on every Wine game I try to play and I have no idea how to solve it. I tried playing Portal since it seems to be native and that seemed to run ju...
