Re: Mounted NAS folder permissions

Have you tried the same mount command without sudo ? e.g :

Code: Select all

$ mount -t cifs //10.1.10.16/NAS ~/NAS -o username=mariposangenetics,password=makeitso
Since the mount point is in your home folder, mounting without sudo should not cause problems.

Re: It's a bird ! It's a plane !

You will get on well here: an engineer, likes Thinkpads, doesn't like ubuntu, likes mint. Welcome :) I see that I am a pretty weak Thinkpad player :mrgreen: I "only" have a T410 and an X61. But I'll catch up ! I'm currently looking for a new one : I'd like a tablet version (X201, X220 or X230), if ...

Re: Timeshift and mount points

Thanks for your fast answers and recommendations. I have a subsequent question : let's say that my new /dev/sda6 mount point is /mnt/local...

Yes, I know, but I don't like the Ubuntu layer ; I prefer relying directly on Debian :)

Timeshift and mount points

Hi everyone, Though I am not new to Linux, I am new to Linux Mint ; and I came across something weird. When I first installed the system, I activated right away the snapshots with Timeshift. I think it worked OK, but never opened Timeshift again to check. Today at some moment, my system starts to ge...

It's a bird ! It's a plane !

No, it's.. it's... SUPERBOBY ! Hi everyone ! I am a fresh new Linux Mint user from France. I've been a Linux user for almost 10 years now since high school, and have always overlooked Linux Mint due to its Ubuntu base. I've never been a big fan of Ubuntu overall, even if it is a perfectly good distr...
