Re: 4 mintTools ready for Elyssa

Hi! I installed the latest tools, but I had to do it through synaptic. The problem I have is that mint update doesn't actually show available updates. It only shows some update for konqueror plugins from launchpad, which I simply don't bother installing. No I cannot say how long it's been working l...

Re: Linux Kernel Vunerability

Hi! I heard the news some time ago but I thought i didn't have to bother since I'm behind a router. Anyway, I might just as well go and install the upgrade, but... I don't know if it is only the linux-image package that is required or should I install linux-headers as well (or maybe anything else to...

Re: Gnome Do - amazing app!

Sorry for posting the same so many times. It wasn't meant like that. Something was weird either with my connection or computer or the forum itself. :?

Anyway, does anyone know how to tweak gnome do? suddenly it started using konqueror for opening folders and i'd like it to keep to nautilus.

Re: Gnome Do - amazing app!

I installed it and I really like it!

Though I don't really get how you can adjust settings for actions etc. For example, even though I have the thunderbird and pidgin plugins installed it doesn't work at all to just type a contacts name and start writing an email or a chat message. Any ideas?

Re: Can I upgrade from Daryna XFCE CE Beta to Final?

There are some issues with this beta that the developer still has not solved. There is a totally unexpected memory leak in Firefox and few other things Maybe, but just maybe, this makes upgrading hard After some problems on my laptop (if you're interested: http://linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: The volume meter popup problem

Mate, thanx a lot for the time you take for it. I do appreciate it. I have also been searching for it on google but also in Configuration Editor, without success. I am planning to check if kde or xfce have that kind of popups, because if they don't i could simply install one of those and set it defa...

Re: mintUpdate 2.0 released in Romeo!

I have upgraded mint update and on my system it takes only 140 kb! That's great. Really nice job Clem!

Edit:
Well after some time the memory usage went up to 5.8 MB. Still nice :-)

Re: The volume meter popup problem

Does anyone have any idea how to disable the volume popup in gnome? I've been googling around and found nothing. I really want to be able to use that laptop with mint again :)

Re: The volume meter popup problem

Thanks for the reply :-) The laptop has 3 buttons (turn down, mute and turn up). On Mint none of those works, while on windows it's possible to at least mute it. Anyway, on both systems if I try to turn the sound down it goes up immediately. A temporary solution I guess would be to get rid of system...

Re: mintMenu 3.1 released in Romeo

I had quite some problems on my system which were over after uninstalling the mintmenu beta. The problem was that after starting the system menus would treat hovering as clicking on things and that led to quite a headache (if i tried to drag something it would instead open hundreds of instances of t...

Re: The volume meter popup problem

Thanks a lot mate! Now we tested the laptop with windows and... it's impossible to turn down the sound on windows too! At least muting it works fine. And there's no irritating volume meter popup (which I otherwise think of as very useful). So it seems like it's a hardware issue, not software. And th...

Re: The volume meter popup problem

Thanks. You're right. The mintmenu can be replaced by another kind of menu, but when I talk about the volume meter popup I don't mean the sound applet in the left corner but the popup that comes up in the middle of the screen when you turn down/up the volume. That one doesn't go away and the volume ...

The volume meter popup problem

Hi! There is a very weird thing happening on my laptop (HP Pavilion zv5000 series). If it were windows I'd think it's a virus infection. The thing is that as soon as I turn on the computer and Daryna starts the volume meter popup comes up and doesn't go away! It blinks every now and then and goes aw...

Well, my system doesn't hang but it just doesn't react to clicking on Quit.

Re: mintMenu 3.1 released in Romeo

Hi! You've done some good job (again) :-) The installation went without any problems and the menu works faster than it used to. I have though a little problem. I don't seem to be able to start wine apps from mint menu. if i put any other kind of menu on the panel it works. So it might be worth check...

Re: mintBackup Translations

Hi Here is my attempt to translate it to Polish (it's my mother tongue but I never had a computer with a system in polish so it was a bit tricky using it in that context :-) ). Anyway it should be correct. I couldn't check it "live" since there is no polish package for the app yet. Anyway, here it c...
