Thanks for the ideas and help. I would like to try to have two .asoundrc files but I must confess I don't know how to fix such launchers. How should they look? And isn't it so that i need to restart the system or at least sound system so that new .asoundrc file is read and loaded? I hope you don't t...

For me it worked just fine. No errors, nothing. Worked like a breeze on my Celena. I think the gui and the way this version works is more consistent with the whole system. And it is also simpler to use thanks to simplified gui. Great job! A suggestion for someone with design skills - it would be nic...

Thanx a lot for the replies guys! I'm afraid it might be right what you wrote Husse. I have ESD enabled all the time and still no sound from more than one app at a time. I installed kcontrol and set the hardware to use the Enlightened Sound Daemon instead of automatic settings and then I don't get a...

Problems with sound solved
Hi everyone! I've been playing around recently and now I have a freshly installed Celena. Everything works perfect of course, except for one little issue. With the default configuration I have only stereo sound, but I can play it from more than one app at a time. I find it very useful since i can ch...

Thanks for your reply. I guess you confirmed my fears ;-) I've been googling and I've read so much about this issue, that I'm dizzy and still haven't found a(nother from what you gave) solution. But I just wonder (I don't know much of such things so don't laugh too much if it's a stupid idea) if i w...

Installed Celena, can't install windows
Hello everyone! I just made a nice fresh install of Celena on nicely newly partitioned harddisk. I followed the wiki about partitioning. Though not in 100%. The thing is, though Celena works very well, I cannot install windows xp. When I boot the pc with the cd in it just says something like:...

I fully agree with you. Xsane is a great tool and once I got into how to use it I don't think I'm ever going to scan things on windows again. (Especially that for some reason the HP drivers on windows installed in Norwegian or Danish - which I don't speak - and it's quite a lottery to set it the way...

Sign me up for mintMag. I have great experience from producing stuff in Quark (On a professional basis), I'm sure I could use that knowledge in Scribus. I also have alot of experience in interviewing and writing, and my english is fairly good, but somebody should go through everything I write just ...

I agree completely. It would be very useful to know what version there is available from the portal. Or maybe if there were a few different versions available (like wine, they release new versions all the time). I think it would also be worth mentioning about 'difficult' apps if one needs to uninsta...

Hmm, that's a tricky one, because when I enable ESD Skype stops working (no sound in, nor out). I was out for help on skype's forum and the only solution they could come up with was to disable ESD. Maybe I should nag on them a bit more then. :-) Edit (11 JUL): Yesterday I wasn't able to give a more ...

Sound related
I have been wondering for a while now if it's possible to play sound from more than one app at a time, ie. both amarok and skype or totem? I actually was able to have sound from both amarok and skype at the same time, but since I upgraded to skype 1.4 it's just a distant memory. I wouldn't like to d...

OK, then I know. :-) Thank you! But when the new release will come is Envy gonna ask me if I want to update my nvidia drivers or do I need to do it myself? And if I want to install a new version of the driver do I need to uninstall the old one first? I read also (here: http://www.albertomilone.com) ...
