Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

@mmesantos1 Very elegant. Could you describe what theme it is, what icons, and other details? And what LSF stands for? It would be great to have the same theme as GDM. It would be great if there was a rule for this topic, as a sticky note, to give some details for those who want to get their deskto...

I agree with blacksilva about suse having the best kde setup.
Here are a few pics with Aurora Midnight (Green vresion)
Faenza-darkest
Gnome panel and AWN
Still no conky as it seems to be broken again.

Looking nice. I have to say, Docky really does go well with the square/faenza them and it looks soooooo nice. Thanks Apple for inventing the square icons

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Loadsof awesome desktops. Going through 20 pages of them to catch up after a week skiing (Piancavallo, Italy) is quite tiring. Would post desktop but I broke it an need 2 fix (or just wait till mint 11 comes out)

One question though what are you using for the dock at the bottom?

I was using daisy with Mint 9KDE but can't use it with Mint 10KDE due to a missing dependency.
I think it's awn with the curved theme, or Cairo-dock with one of its presets.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

A bit different. Using Devilspie to make the dock stay on top of the panel. Also split conky and using photon dance 6 by zwopper.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Some nice desktops, even (or especially, depending on your point of view) the KDE ones. Oh, i've never had KDE run on 110mb ram with compositing on, even in version 3.5 it took up over 12o. Must have been my setup (suse 9.3) Small update to my recent one. (unsurprisingly for me) i have brought AWN b...

Re: Custom settings for mail indicator applet

The pinned tab is the gmail web interface. But, i have used gmail notifier to set the gmail web interface as the default email client, so it opens the web interface when i click on inbox in the messaging menu.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Some great desktops out there. I felt the need to change my desktop for a bit, probably won't last.................. The gnome-panel with the clock on it is set to be a floating panel so it appears above all windows exen when maximised. I did this by creating a panel, setting it to autohide and in g...

Custom settings for mail indicator applet

I have gmail and in the mail indicator applet (mint 10 main) i have set Gmail Notifier to check my email as a replacement for evolution. I use Chromium and have 3 tabs 'pinned': gmail, mint forums and a blog. Gmail notifier has two options: default email client and gmail web interface, but if i choo...
