I agree with Damien, best to reinstall with a lighter version.

How to disable bluetooth entirely

I never use bluetooth and would like to disable it entirely. It isn't in startup manager and I have no idea how to disable it and prevent it from showing on my panel. larry@larry-ThinkPad-T550:$ inxi -Fxzd System: Host: larry-ThinkPad-T550 Kernel: 5.0.0-37-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 7....

Re: moving icons on the panel

This method should work but you'll need to re-add any launchers you've added to the panel.

Right click on an empty section of the panel. Select Troubleshoot then Restore all settings to default.

Hope this helps,

Re: Backintime ran out of disk space???

Andy, on my machine I have 5 on-demand snapshots using 15GB and 5 BIT backups using 11GB. Is your problem drive connected to your daily driver or a test machine? How many images are on there? I would run fsck on that drive.

Open Synaptic Package Manager --> Settings --> Preferences --> Files Tab and check that "Delete downloaded packages after install" isn't selected.

It would help if we had the specs of that machine and how much RAM you're giving to VirtualBox.

If I think there's a problem during boot I just check dmesg.
