Re: Animated GIFs...

Nice Schultz and Moem, Moem ones are accurate, I tried to do one with some accuracy but maybe I made it accurate 80%, imagine BASIC interpreter in French like C64:

Re: Animated GIFs...

Lovely topic!! I liked animation gif but I knew few about 'em, all I do is to bring images that have my vision or idea of my imagination to any gif animation maker online and decide the order, time, and of course I added some texts, it's of my bad luck that I can't draw or make graphics in this era,...

Re: The screen becomes darker

I made it off before, but the problem is still alive, I make the brightness pointer by "F12" to be on about 50%, after some time it becomes about 25% and the screen become darker.

Re: Fun programs with QBasic 4.5

I meant that I'm focusing on something in my mind but if I found a solution that's better than I've I'll use it, there's no problem against Python, the meaning is that I'm some familiar with BASIC logic and it's different than the C logic, so there's no problem to learn BASIC in this days if it's ju...

Re: Fun programs with QBasic 4.5

But I didn't understand the program really because I know no Python but I think it's some close to C++ language. (note; the just made above "edit" to my previous post was just a silly typo compromises -> comprises; nothing changed) Certainly Python takes more inspiration from C/C++ than BASIC (alth...

Re: Fun programs with QBasic 4.5

I found a problem in the text editor to show the same ASCII characters I used to draw the game board That is due to QB64 by default using the CP437 "codepage" (the basic, US codepage) for both the IDE editor and its output. Very briefly, ASCII is a 7-bit standard; compromises 2^7=128 characters. Th...

Re: Fun programs with QBasic 4.5

I know of QBasic, but I've never used it. When I was in high school, I learned some very elementary basics in Tandy BASICA, and I also learned to play around with GW-BASIC in MS-DOS. One of the programs I had to enter was the William Tell Overture (by Rossini) and then, years later, I found someone...

The screen becomes darker

Almost, every 10 minutes the screen of my computer becomes more darker and I've to press "F12" to get it more brighter, it becomes brighter automatically if the battery was charging, the same problem faced me when I used Windows. I tried "inxi" to get some information if they can help: pascal@pascal...

Re: Mint as Gaming platform?? Looking to change to Linux OS.

I think this's an important point, Mint as gaming platform, I didn't test it yet, but maybe I've limited choices because I don't think my Lenovo ideapad 330 abilities can work with new high big games, but it's important to be satisfied in this point after we tried games working under Windows with at...

Re: Fun programs with QBasic 4.5

This time I made unprofessional tic tac toe, it's not smart one yet and I think this isn't the final form of it, but the good thing is that I tried to do it with personal efforts without taking a look in a standard code for it, I share it and wait critiques and opinions. I found a problem in the tex...

Re: See your luck program

Your aid helped to make like a standard program that one can keep it and open it at another time and study it, this's what I intended to, to make program like traditional BASIC programs I saw in books, of course, this one is small one or has simple idea if compared to another traditional programs, b...

Re: See your luck program

You're right! I removed "goto" by "do-loop", I discovered that now, it's more appropriate for this part of code, I know that one of programming directions preferred not to use "goto", but I see no problem of its usage if it's in the appropriate cases. What about this version of the program: QB45 cod...

Re: See your luck program

Yes, that version now in fact plays again. Don't get me wrong, I noticed your "main aim" as stated at at the top (i.e., your program isn't necessarily about functionality nor program logic) but things that I'd critique if it were say a homework assignment, in decreasing order of "seriousness": Hope...

Re: What do you like about mint?

Stability is good strong point in Mint, since my first two install times I didn't need to install Mint again and yesterday I upgraded to Mint Tina online simply and with no cost of much time for my limited internet connection, I upgraded other packages too offered by Update Manager, I liked OS like ...

Re: See your luck program

I appreciate that you used my program very much, I didn't expect that there's someone care in such classic programming and there's professionals in this hobby but I'm still training. The story of this program is that I was training in how to make data saved in array without repeating then the idea o...

Fun programs with QBasic 4.5

This's small program I made when I was practicing programming in old ways, it shows you your luck by picking 3 cards, it's programmed originally in QB45 but I used QB64 linux version to make the executable file. https://i.postimg.cc/WdgfChdj/Screenshot-at-2019-08-27-09-43-17.png This's the executabl...
