Re: Lenovo Ideapad's “charging thresholds manager”? On AC power all the time: okay?

It'll get better, we can guess? :) To me, though, how Linux treats the battery vs using Windows 10 is not even an inkling of a tradeoff. The more I use Linux the happier I am (with computers, of course hehe). Just saying. I know what crap of a system Windows 10 is, and I haven't even (heavily) used ...

Re: Lenovo Ideapad's “charging thresholds manager”? On AC power all the time: okay?

@thx-1138: Thanks for sharing the knowledge, in any case :) @AndyMH: Yeah, I've installed TLP and PowerTop (all auto-tuned except the USB mouse). To be honest, though, I'm not happy with the first test in which the battery ran for ~4:37 until 16%, before I plugged it back in. I wasn't really thinkin...

Re: Lenovo Ideapad's “charging thresholds manager”? On AC power all the time: okay?

Hi and thanks so much for your replies. @thx-1138: Thanks for testing that out on your Lenovo. I guess the real question is--assuming I could also test that out and successfully configure because I had a similar skill-set like yours (which I don't haha)... Is it worth it? Will people rave about the ...

[SOLVED] Lenovo Ideapad's “charging thresholds manager”? On AC power all the time: okay?

Hello, TL;DR: Wiped Windows 10 and installed Linux Mint 19.1 on my Lenovo 330 (Ideapad) laptop and I don’t know whether it had the “charging thresholds manager” that comes with other Lenovo models. Is it okay to run my laptop on AC power only—all the time I use it? (Battery is non-removable and of L...

Re: [SOLVED] Firefox Developer and pCloud errors (Mint Cinnamon 19.1)

Got that. Thanks again! I use Mint Cinnamon 19.1 "Tessa."

I'm just starting to understand the "freedom" that comes with Linux. (I'm a 10-day old total noob, been a Windows user for life.)

Re: Firefox Developer and pCloud errors (Mint Cinnamon 19.1)

Hi fabien85, Re pCloud: Oh, man...I guess I'm so used to using MS Windows...yes, I got it...I just created a local folder with which a pCloud folder syncs. Now I can honestly say pCloud rocks on Linux haha. Re Firefox DE: I found a solution just a while ago (funny finding one after deciding to post ...

[SOLVED] Firefox Developer and pCloud errors (Mint Cinnamon 19.1)

Hello, When I open Firefox Developer, is the terminal supposed to “hang” like this? hang.png The browser opens and seems to work fine, but the terminal stays like that. If I close the terminal, the browser closes, too. However if I close the browser, terminal shows errors: [Parent 16686, Gecko_IOThr...
