Re: Gnote / Sticky Notes question

If you are using this Sticky Notes Applet (https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/applets/view/194), then yes, you can import and export it. Hi. I'm not using Sticky Notes yet but might just give it a try. As I said I'm ok with gnote, just wanted to know how to move notes between computers. Thanks.

Sure,
copied, transferred, backed up etc.
Gnotes are stored in ~/.local/share/gnote

I haven't used sticky, but I'm sure they are stored similarly, IE somewhere in /home.
Thanks, found it! This where I show my newbie ignorance, took me a while to figure out it was in hidden files!

Re: How to put a "sticky note" on my desktop?

I like Gnote, it's often used, and on the panel, but I do wish it had the option of sorting alphabetically. It (gnote) sorts by last modified, which is OK if you want to recall the last note you were using, but not so great once you have a bunch of notes. Are you sure, have you tried clicking on "N...

Gnote / Sticky Notes question

Hi. Can either of Gnote or Sticky Notes notes be copied/pasted or imported/exported from one computer to another? I'm ok with Gnotes but I've not been able to find a way to move notes I've made on one computer to another. Can it be done?
Thanks.

Cinnamon 20 Update Manager Not Working Correctly

Hi. Cinnamon 20 Update Manager seems to download and update OK but none of the updates are showing up in History Of Updates. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Update Manager a time or two but History of Updates simply will not update. I've googled & looked through Release Notes but haven't seen anyth...

Cinnamon 20 Update Manager/History of Updates not working!

Hi. I'm running Cinnamon 20 in V.Box 6.1 on an osx imac and everything seems to work pretty well so far except for Update Manager/History Of Updates. History of Updates is not updating, i.e., it's not showing any new updates being installed beyond a certain point even thought new updates have been d...

Re: linux mint 20 cinnamon error in live session

SO why this problem is happening in linux mint cinnamon only Just guessing, maybe a bad Cinnamon down load? Did you check it to see if it was good as suggested here: https://linuxmint.com/verify.php? Might want to give that a try or possibly download another copy or two from one of the other many s...

Re: Xfce 20 Ext. USB Install hangs @ Detecting File Systems

Thank you all for your input. Well, I think I have the answer, at least so far as I can tell. Apparently, as pbear must have been alluding, the type of install method can have more of an affect on the install process than I would have ever imagined, especially on an 11+ yo hp laptop! I got it instal...

Re: Xfce 20 Ext. USB Install hangs @ Detecting File Systems

I hadn't tried disconnecting but I have now and it didn't work. I had tried Compatibility Mode but that didn't work either. Will look at some other things. One question, does the LM install process have time limits for various stages of the install where if it can't proceed it will give some error o...

This might mean something but I have no idea what! I've gotten it before and have just always clicked Continue and moved on, but not this time! If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

(SOLVED)Xfce 20 Ext. USB Install hangs @ Detecting File Systems

Hi. I've been trying to install Xfce 20 to an external usb drive. Everything seems to go well until Detecting File Systems where in hangs......for ever. I've re-formated & restarted, re-formated & restarted a number of times and always the same thing.....gets to Detecting system files and hangs. Pre...

The flash drive should turn on when it's plugged into the usb port on the computer. What happens when you plug the flash drive into the usb port?

Yes, he means eject from the virtual optical drive. I do the same, for the simple reason that it makes sense. Do you have a reason for wanting to leave it inserted? Well, thats why you're a L14 I'm a 4! Just made sense to me to leave 'em in place as it didn't seem to cause any problems that ...

Re: Xfce 20/VirtualBox Auto-resize Guest Display not working!

Remember, you need to eject the VBox_GAs media from the virtual CD/DVD device. Hi deck_luck. As mentioned earlier, everything still appears to be working fine. However, I'm not sure I follow your reasoning for the above statement, why the need to remove the VBox_GAs media? And are you actually refe...

Re: Xfce 20/VirtualBox Auto-resize Guest Display not working!

Just an update and I don't want to get too excited just yet but I think I got working, at least looks good so far anyway! I found that I had to open the Home folder and under Devices right click VBox_GAs_6.x.xx, hit Unmount & Eject (not sure if both were required but that's what worked). That remove...

Re: Xfce 20/VirtualBox Auto-resize Guest Display not working!

Your first screenshot indicates the VBox Guest Additions media is using the /dev/sr0 device and mounted on /media/george/VBox_GAs_6.0.2 mount point. Just like my example in my previous how to install post. Sorry, I guess too many screen shots can be more misleading than help! Xfce is actually the s...

It has the symptom of the Vbox Guest Additions not installed or they are not starting. Please post the output from the following commands: Thanks for responding deck_luck.
