Re: Is There a "Screensaver" for Before Any Logins?

the closest i can think of this happening is when you turn the computer back on from hibernation (or from standby for that matter). the screensaver will kick in upon resuming. though this may not be what you are exactly looking for, i hope this pseudo-suggestion would help.

Re: VirtualBox 3.1 Installation problems

Add the Sun public key and register by
running this command in terminal.
no need to add the public key. i believe you only need to do this if you want to use the ppa. just download the appropriate .deb file from the official site and run.

see if you can play the song outside frostwire. if the song still won't play, you probably got a dud.

Re: mint 7 menu is always white

you probably have set custom colors for the mint menu. open the mint menu preferences, uncheck the 'use custom colors' box under the colors tab. see if that helps.

Re: audio stuttering

But every (?) application has an option for sound so you can select whatever you want i noticed this to be true with vlc and virtualbox. haven't checked with other apps though, but my guess is as good as yours. it looks like i'll be stuck with OSS for now. wished the other apps would honor the pref...

Re: Favorites in Mint Menu

Is there a way to add a custom launcher? try the menu editor. right-click the mint menu then click edit menu. from there you can create your own category and put whatever items you like. don't forget to put a check mark on the show column so the category and your items appear in mint menu's all app...

Re: audio stuttering

ok here's an update: i started to mess around with the sound preferences and was able to PARTIALLY get rid of the stutter. the following were my observations: 1. using auto settings: stutter in totem, rhythmbox and flash videos 2. using ALSA: stutter in totem, rhythmbox and flash videos 3. using OSS...

Re: audio stuttering

hi. thank you for replying. It's sad when I never get an answer - what happened? was it fixed? or don't the person care? or has he/she given up on Mint? i know how it feels like. i've been through that path before in other forums. but anyway, back to the topic... How old is it? the laptop is 2 years...
