Re: Low disk space? Read this! (BleachBit bug) [SOLVED]

<rant and off-topic> BleachBit is getting the bad rap because there are users who blindly enable this and that option without paying attention to / understand / read the warning alert boxes that pop up. And those who jump on the bandwagon saying BleachBit is crap because of second-hand information a...

This came to my mind as well. With all the inconsistencies I read from the net, I tend to just treat all those info as rumors until it really happens. I take Microsoft's credibility with a lot of grains of salt.

In this particular context, it's a bad idea to use the Templates directory as an example. Read: What is the “Templates” folder in the home directory for?

...but it's running from the /home directory, not the ResonantRise folder on my desktop, which is an issue, because the script needs to load things from within the folder. Two solutions to this. Take your pick, which works for you: Edit the start.sh script, just before the java line, add the follow...

Re: Launching .sh file on boot?

Looks like everything's in order. The script should open a terminal window once you're logged in. If it works, well and good. Otherwise, we'll try to troubleshoot further.

Re: Launching .sh file on boot?

@Pilosopong Tasyo the server works when launched manually ... Btw, I chose the "Run In Terminal" option when manually starting it, and that works, the server will launch, no doubt about that there. I had meant that when I had the .sh script chosen as a Startup-Application that nothing happened. Ok ...

...this is the command I had tried previously: cd ~/Desktop/Server && sh ./LaunchServer.sh Which quite obviously didn't work... I've tried doing this previously but it didn't seem to work, perhaps I just did it wrong... What have you done so far with your previous attempt? If you carefully read the comments, it should be apparent that you put java -Xmx5G -XX:MaxPermSize=256M -jar cauldron.jar nogui on the next line after # YOUR CODE GOES HERE # or replace the entire comment line with the actual command. After making the modifi...

Based on his previous replies, I'm under the impression that he is running a full blown desktop distro as a server. If the script is run in an already-open terminal window and it generates output, the OP will need to add this code at the beginning if he wants to run the script directly from the GUI ...
