[SOLVED] Harddrive Access As Root Only. Help!

I have a dual boot system winXp & Mint7. I needed more space so I reduced the windows drive and took 30gig, formated as ext2. All grand except it seems I need to be in root to copy files to it.

Any idea how I can change this?

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Kernel re-compile/swap

Well for one I know this kernel works with my laptop and its the newest one that will (so I don't want anything older). Everything after that has a documented kernel bug in how it relates to my laptops processor. I'm not sure that a kernel that was compiled, installed, and optimized for a 6 or 8 mo...

Re: Kernel re-compile/swap

I'm not sure you'd want to go that route. Well for one I know this kernel works with my laptop and its the newest one that will (so I don't want anything older). Everything after that has a documented kernel bug in how it relates to my laptops processor. If you prefer an older kernel, I'd say your ...

Kernel re-compile/swap

I want to install Mint on my laptop but it uses a weird chip (VIA C3 Nehemiah) and it doesn't like any kernel past 2.6.20-16-lowlatency. I've archived that kernel from my old Freespire install as a tar file. How do I swap out the existing kernel in Mint and replace it with the one I have? Thanks in ...

Why does my Mint 7 say its Debian 5.0?

I installed a screenlet last night on my desktop. It gives me all the computer specs and says I'm running Debian 5.0. Why does it say that, if anything it should say Ubuntu.

Cheers,
Rob

Problem playing CD & DVD - M7 XFCE

I installed Mint 7 with XFCE on a friends computer. None of his CD's or DVD's will play, I was wondering if the problem was with the codecs and whether or not they were automatically included.

I use M7 Gnome and have no problems myself.

Btw is XFCE pronounced as X-FACE? :)

Hidden Folders

Hi I want to add a new Py plugin to GRAMPS. It says I have to add it to ".gramps" in my Home folder but I do not see and folders beginning with a dot. Can anyone tell me how to view them?
