In that case I would set the BIOS to UEFI only then install mint - just to make sure that mint installs in UEFI. Good idea. I will do that. But with Windows 7 hard drive unplugged. When done I'd set the BIOS to UEFI first so you don't have to faff around in BIOS every time you want to boot windows....

They're good if you want to install in legacy mode. But unless you have a specific need for that I'd suggest you install in the default UEFI mode instead.
