Re: Linux Mint Blog

Me too. All the devs are very active and helpful on the forums here. I just used a script that Ikey put up to fix the font problem in LMDE and it works great. He didn't have to do that. In other distros you just have to wait until a fix comes in some future update. And I see Clem jump into discussi...

Re: LMDE Review from Distrowatch

About stability or its lack and the possibility of major breakages: I have no experience in Debian (so I don't know how thinks are handled there), but in more than one year running an enchantment of Cooker, I can tell you that breakages can and do happen. When did it happen to me? - In major updates...

Re: The verdict so far?

So far? I'm impressed!! :) Got the first ISO released. Installation went flawless. it's quick, maybe as others said not as noobie's friend as the Ubuntu's based versions. After that as been a learning/discovering/amazement process. I had to manually configure my wireless and graphics card and this l...

Tks Ikey for the answer.
I'm at the moment logged in LMDE,(an enjoying so much don't feel like rebooting) but as soon as i "can" i'll try that approach in Isadora, and yes i believe i saw something about git cloning in the post.

MintMenu v5.0.5 (LMDE) in LM 9 Main Edition

Is it possible to have have the last version available in LMDE of MintMenu also in 9 Main Edition?
Even with Romeo enabled the latest version that shows is 4.9.9
I'm missing something here?

Thanks a lot

Re: Mint Debian

As far as i can tell and see everything seems fine, but i may be missing something... Of course after reboot the settings are lost, and now my question is which the best way to have compiz on logon? add it to startup applications or the script mmesantos1 and ikey created? Either solution needs to b...

Re: Mint Debian

bug67 you seem to have the same intel card that I have one one of my machines. To solve this problem I had to remove the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau and xserver-xorg-video-nv packages then run sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg. I restarted X and all was well. I don't fully understand why this works...

Re: Testing to ustable [Solved]

is this safe? i mean in a way it doesn't break strait away your system? I'm thinking mainly in the Mint tools incorporated in the system. Wouldn't be then dependency problems going on to unstable?

As off now are already supported the following chips BCM4313, BCM43224, BCM43225, and according to the ToDo the...

Re: Does Mint Debian goes wireless? (Broadcom BCM 4312)

well, finally!! After following the instructions in Rifester's link and after installing and uninstalling several times, the wireless is up. I think never spent so much time trying to fix something :) About 30 hours w/ few interruptions. This shows how much i want this Mint-Debian working 100% for me.

Re: LMDE Bug Reports Thread

- not really a bug but the installer displays each and every file that is copied, and I think it is taking too much time. Also it makes the progress bar flash probably because copying small files is so fast that the progress bar gets filled/emptied too quickly for our eyes. This is a nice touch, ma...
