Re: Firefox Not Playing Youtube videos - Mint 17 & Mint 13 X

In Firefox, go to Menu>addons and click on Plugins on the left. In the list of installed plugins, you should see Shockwave Flash. If it's there, what version is it? And what is the setting for it (Ask to Activate, Always Activate, Never Activate)?

Re: The feeling

I think that feeling comes from using the terminal in Linux, that nitty gritty, nuts and bolts, do anything you please feeling. Simply slapping one of the MANY interfaces that each come with tons of their own themes on top doesn't change that quintessential thing that makes a Nix computer what it is.

Re: Installing Mint 17 on an original 2008 MacBook Air

The touch-pad itself works responsively with the fingertip and has good “slider” sensitivity on the right-hand side. Was there a p...

Re: Can't read Terminal input after upgrade

To fix your terminal, you can change your theme, or manually edit the terminal colours by right clicking in terminal, and selecting Profiles>Profile Preferences. You can edit Opacity there as well. To fix the keyboard issue, go to Menu>System Settings. Once there, scroll down to Hardware section and...

Re: Wine problem

Right click on the program, and at the top it will probably say "open with mono runtime." That's what it's using when you double click it. Instead, right click, select properties, go to "open with" tab and select Wine then set as default. Close and then double click the program and it should behave ...

Re: How to add a second panel on Cinnamon?

As far as I can tell this hasn't been implemented. There is a workaround, with these extensions:

http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/extensions/view/26
and
http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/applets/view/181

Follow the directions of the developer and it should achieve the desired result.

Re: Change refresh rate - Cinnamon

Turning off vsync didn't change anything, but don't notice screen tearing either. glxgears ran fine, solid 60 fps and using about 3% of CPU and .3% of memory. Thanks for trying to help guys, I think I'm just going to have to get used to it.

After installing fglrx again, before restarting X, I ran the "sudo amdconfig --initial" command and got "amdconfig: No supported adapters detected"

I then uninstalled fglrx again to avoid a repeat of last time.

don't forget sudo amdconfig --initial before you reboot or it will not install properly I didn't do that, oops.
