This solution will likely work... it does require a small amount of terminal use while setting up the first time, but it can all be copy-pasted from the guide.

Re: CheckGMail Help

Sorry, just looked on my Mint machine, looks like the "." folders are in your home, so go up one level from where your downloads, pictures etc folders are then show hidden files and the .checkgmail one should be in there.

Delete your /.checkgmail/prefs.xml file and restart. If you don't see that folder, make sure you have your folder set to show hidden files.

OGM playback

So I have some videos I'm watching in the OGM format, and I'm having some trouble with playback. Sometimes installed programs don't install a shortcut, you might also want to check /usr/share/applications and see if its there.

Re: Is Chinese Interface Available?

Once you have Mint installed, you can download Chinese language packs from the package manager, and select your language from the login screen. Alternatively, you could try this Chinese Mint based distro, called Deepin: http://linux.deepin.org/10.12

Re: Problem with wallpaper

You can use custom GDM themes, although I wish there was an easy way to use a custom background at the login as well.

Re: Question about ATI cards and mint

My desktop has an ATI 3650, even with the properietary drivers, there is noticable screen tearing when moving windows and in videos, however it is not so bad that its not worth using Mint for.
