I have two suggestions for mintMenu (first time poster, long time lurker :) ) and amazing job btw. #1. can we map just the windows key to mintMenu #2. it would be great if when I type something in the search box, and hit enter it would choose what I select. The Enter key does not seem to be working...

HowTo: getting media working on the BBC website
Start Synaptic Package Manager (install software on the menu).
Search for “mplayerâ€, scroll down until you find the package right click on it and mark it for complete removal.
Search for “firefoxâ€, scroll down until you find the “totem-mozilla†package (it should be near the end) and mark that for installation.
Search for “realplayer†and mark the “realplay†package for installation.
Open a terminal and type the following commands:
Run realplayer from the “Sound & Video†section of mintMenu (If it is not there right click on the mintMenu plugin and select “Reload Pluginsâ€) and click next until realplayer launches.
Once Realplayer has started click on Tools>Preferences and select the “Hardware†tab, in there uncheck the “Use Xvideo†tickbox.
Once you have done that you can close all realplayer windows and start Firefox.
Browse to the BBC website and find a video or audio link.
Click the link and when it asks you what format you would like to use choose a definition level suitable to your connection and select Real Media as the codec.
If you have already selected Windows Media then click okay to any error messages that appear and when you get to the media page click on the “preferences†link in the top right hand corner and select Real Media there.
This will allow you to watch video and listen to audio on the BBC website as well as watching video on CNN etc. and recent quicktime movies (CNN will complain but will actually work).
This works on Bianca beta 014

not a newsletter
sorry to do this, but for some time now my grandmother has not been well hence the eraticness of the posting in this sub-forum. Today she died so could some one else do the next news letter for me as I do not think I will be up to it. Thank you in advance.
Joe.

distrowatch ranking
In the Distrowatch section of this months Linux Format (UK magazine) it has the top 10 most visited between 9 Nov - 8 Dec 06. Linux Mint is a No.4 with 1069 hits behind Ubuntu, SUSE, and Fedora Core. It is also the only riser, all others either stayed in position or fell.
