Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Alright, after a few modifications, I got my desktop the way I want. The wallpaper is "homemade" (in the sense that it's a composite of other people's images that I put together). The icon theme is Feel of Japan. The Screenlet is Ring Sensors. And that's not a dock down there - just an unexpanded pa...

Re: Strange Menu Behavior

I do see both of your images, by the way. I am not sure why some people do not see them. Another thought... Have you done any updates to mintMenu lately? I believe there were some Level 1 and 2 updates in the past week or so. I use either the Main or the Custom GNOME menus, for the most part. I add...

Re: Twitter From Command Line

This has been a really helpful app for me, personally. Instead of having to open a new tab, sign in to Twitter, and then post, I can just click the Terminal button on my panel and tweet. I appreciate the effort.

Re: Strange Menu Behavior

Have you tried to reload the plugins or remove and add the mintMenu back to see if that makes a difference? Those are the first things I can thing of doing. Thanks. I've done this twice now - uninstall, shut down, start up, install. Same results. I'm also happy to hear now, months after the fact, t...

Strange Menu Behavior

OK, for some reason, MintMenu is now doing this:

Anyone recognize what's going on here? I don't remember doing anything special to the menu settings.

Re: Post Your Desktop!

Another change, for the upcoming Spring Equinox: I found that one, Reve D'Orient, right here on the Mint wallpapers forum. It was so gobsmackingly beautiful, I had to have it right away   It's now available on Gnome-Look, so I understand. Many of my wallpapers were given to me by a friend...

Re: Post Your Desktop!

Updated my mid-January desktop with a new toy: http://i16.removed/albums/b19/artemis_666/jan_cairo_desk.jpg I love the stuff you come up with. I recognize the icon theme, as I use it too, but where are you getting your wallpapers? Oh, and I changed mine again. Click for full size. http://xs137.xs.t...

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

After a brief but interesting sojourn with Mandriva, I installed Mint 6 and am very pleased. Anyone else tried 2.6.24-21?

I know, I know - it's a Level 5 update and you shouldn't do it. But I'm curious like that. So I installed the 2.6.24-21 kernel and, just as initially happened with 2.6.24-19, my screen resolution went haywire. I've taken the kernel off menu.lst so I'm back to 19 again, but I'm curious: Has anyone el...

Fun With Wine

Hey there! This information might actually only be helpful to a very small number of people here, but I thought I would post this little discovery, for the handful of people who might benefit from it. For those of you who use Wine, more than likely your Wine programs are somewhere in /.wine and appe...
