Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
Well, I don't know what I did, but after a reboot today, my desktop effects were disabled. In my attempts to turn them back on, I discovered that all the desktop effects plugins are missing in the system settings. Must have been an update gone bad? Have you actually received any updates over the pa...

Unable to re-login without reboot, having used the blue button to logout from KDE I filed a bug report. #715614 in launchpad https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/715614 Happens in the 32-bit version as well. Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
I have an Atheros wireless card and when I suspend, about half the time, the card doesn't wake up on resume. Is anyone using the RC have this problem? I'm kind of hoping it's been fixed somewhere along the way. I know it worked fine in LM 8.

Re: alt tab programs on different workspaces
Hmm... sorry about that. That's where the option is in KDE 4.5.3.
Try changing the task switcher option is your panel to "Show only tasks on current desktop" and see if that helps.

Re: unable to fresh instal
You can also move your old files to the new user, since you know the password for both users.
Anywho... I hope it's working as you expected now and good luck!

Re: unable to fresh instal
It's not really a matter of deleting the old settings. What you CAN do, is just modify your existing setup. Right click the desktop, choose Change Wallpaper option. Choose the Themes tab and look for Mint or Mint-X theme in the list. Choose that one. Right click the top panel and choose the add widg...

Re: unable to fresh instal
Create a new user and it will be a "fresh Mint" user.
The settings you are seeing are because you kept your /home partition. Your desktop settings are stored there, so when you login in, you are using Mint with your settings from Ubuntu.

Re: how to install new theme
After you have extracted the theme, move the "DarkerIce" folder to ~/.themes In the Metacity folder, you should find three .tar.gz files. Right click the desktop, choose Change Desktop Background. Select the Themes tab. Drag each of the .tar.gz files to the themes window to install them. T...

Disclaimer: I do this all the time and it's yet to not work for me. You do need to understand that there is an inherent risk associated with all low level system stuff like this. If it borks your system, I claim no responsibility. Could you post a how to "unupgrade" in the event the syste...

Right click desktop, choose Change Desktop Background.
Click the Themes tab, press the customize button, then go to the colors tab. Try adjusting the Selected Items colors.
