I wasn't talking about just her last post. Have a look through the other things she has posted, and then tell me if you think she should be giving advice to other people...

Andrea, every single one of your posts on this forum is factually incorrect, and sometimes downright bizarre.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about, so please just stop.

Why wouldn't I get them to click Menu -> Software Manager? Apple are behind there as well - their app store only became available in January this year.

I run Vista when I convert You Tube videos to MP3 for my player and my girlfriend's player. Try aTube Catcher under WINE. Works flawlessly. Free Real Player works out of the box. Never could get any application to work in Mint. Real have a Linux version - http://ubuntuguide.net/how-to-install-real-...

Re: [Tabled] 64 bit live Julia will not boot

I'm having trouble finding the forum post I wanted to link you to, but it seemed as though it could be a workaround for the problem you are having. 1: Boot your PC from the Ubuntu 10.10 x64 DVD. 2: Select your language from the first menu. 3: When you are at the menu that asks if you would like to i...

The exact instructions you need (I'll show you the easy way, rather than getting you to edit files by hand): sudo add-apt-repository ppa:n...

Re: Dual boot Linux Mint and OS X

OS X will install it's own bootloader, and GRUB can't boot OS X without some fiddling.

I had some success by creating a very small FAT16 partition and installing GRUB to that, then installing OS X.

The OS X bootloader can see the FAT16 partition, but not EXT partitions

When you install a program using WINE, the installed executables are automatically given permission. That isn't the issue here.

What was the problem you were having with WINE?

Was it a 'File Not Found' error?

You should really have a swap partition 2.5x the size of your RAM, i.e. 2.5gb swap for 1gb RAM, 5gb swap for 2gb RAM, etc.

That may or may not be where the problem lies

Re: Do you run Linux as your sole operating system?
