I tried removing xbacklight, but then too that applet isn't able to control brightness
Is that applet the one which also has power management?

No, its not that applet its another one, which has options for only brightness, gamma value etc.

Use this command and post the output: ls /sys/class/backlight/*/*

ls: cannot access '/sys/class/backlight/*/*': No such file or directory
This is the output I get, have tried with sudo, non-root and su but the same thing.

Re: Linux Mint 20 takes a lot of time to load

Is there any way to stop that fsck integrity test from running at startup? I know its something that verifies that my OS is intact and not corrupted. By the way, I ran the systemd-analyze command before applying the kernel parameter. So the problem is unclear shutdown/reboot right? Is there any way ...

Re: Brightness not working after switching to Nvidia driver

I tried removing lumos, but it still doesn't work. Seems like lumos only puts a layer of screen fliter with the given brightness value :(

Re: Linux Mint 20 takes a lot of time to load

It's clear to mostly be an issue using that nvidia driver with the system. I'm not sure right off where to go with that. Make sure you have the dkms module built correctly, which I suspect it will be or it doesn't want to start: dkms status terminal command, -that should show at least one line that...

Re: Brightness not working after switching to Nvidia driver

There is this script called lumos which basically gives a gui for xbacklight . What I have done is that I have pasted that script in /bin directory and made a desktop config file that allowed it to execute from there which would give me options in gui for brightness like 10, 50, 100 etc. Is there an...

Re: Brightness not working after switching to Nvidia driver

Yeah, I have double checked no brightness option in power management too. By the way I am able to control brightness with xbacklight -set 65 command which increases/decreases according to the number specified. I had recently changed the thermal paste of my cpu and gpu, not sure why the temperature i...
