Re: Linux Mint Arch Edition (unofficial)

Why do you want to make a new distro and brand it Mint? I guess it may have it's advantages.. Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Wait, you can make multible conkys? Do they all have to be called .conkyrc or can you call them whatever you want as long as it begins with .conky? You can have as much as you want, just make a config file with any name and open conky using it via conky -c <file> And in a script #!/bin/bash sleep 1...

Re: Few Comments from a Windows guy

Why use the terminal? I find it much quicker to do certain tasks, take installing a program for example. Say I want to install avant-windows-navigator; apt-get install avant-window-navigator (I know you can use the mint script without get) One line of typing, instead of; Open mintMenu Open mintInsta...

Just add a personal package archive (PPA) that most major software has, this is like a repository containing the program they have developed and you ...

Or type alacante in terminal.

Hello, In Linux, the "Menu Bar" is known as the "Panel". In GNOME this can be easily customised by right-clinking on a clear area of the panel and selecting properties. http://i282.removed/albums/kk279/Peden20/Screenshot-PanelProperties.png Here I have the panel on the left, it will also he hidden a...

Re: Helena after Gloria

If you don't like helena, why not just use Gloria? It is very nice and still supported. Or you could point your repos to the Karmic and Helena ones too. Personally, I think this is better, I don't see grub because I don't dual boot and I have the timeout set to 0 so I don't have any problems there. ...
