I have found the only way to change the order of menu items is to put numbers at the start of the name in the menu editor. (I am using Mint 7 so version 4.7.9 of MintMenu.) Viking777's steps to overcome the problem are great advice but my take on this is that it is a bug. I have the same issue using Mint 8 but the same hardware previously on MInt 7 did not exhibit this behaviour. To summarize: a disc inserted will not eject using the button on the front of the drive.
