Re: Where's Boo?

Aye - Good to hear all is well! Looking forward to Mint 10 KDE, of course. One question - do you need Medibuntu repos for Mint 10? I can run Kubuntu just fine with all codecs installed from the normal installation RC CD. It's an option right in the installer if you want them installed or not. Keep o...

Re: How to update to KDE 4.5.2?

Hello. As of right now, KDE 4.5.2 is not being backported to Kubuntu 10.04, of which Mint KDE 9 is based. So the only way to have KDE 4.5.2 right now would be to install Kubuntu 10.10 (released in 3 days!), or wait for Mint KDE 10. You can see the info here: http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-sc-4.5.2 ...

Re: system freezes

Well you would likely need to install packagemanager and resize that partition. Or, re-install and manually set your swap partition to 2x the size of the amount of your installed RAM. Not sure which is the easier route - sadly neither are ideal.

Re: system freezes

Running LM9 KDE. When screensaver or suspend causes system to freeze up and the only response I can get is to turn the computer off and restart. Any idea how this can be corrected? Hello. Could you be affected by this upstream bug in Lucid Lynx? Hibernation may be unavailable with automatic partiti...

Where's Boo?

Hey Boo - Just reaching out to see how you've been. You've been eerily quiet here in the Mint KDE forums. Hope all is well.

KDE 4.5.2 Released

This is a bug fix to continue KDE's march towards a rock solid Linux desktop. Nothing earth-shattering, but some nice bug fixes nonetheless. Should be in the repos shortly.

You can read about it on The Blue Mint.

Do you have a link to the bug(s) page in launchpad?

Re: Installing Nvidia current driver in KDE

9 Series. G something. Im pretty sure they are all using the same driver in that series? I can find the driver on their website. Is that the way to go instead of from Synaptic or the CLI or the autoo-installer? I would use the internal ones that Mint KDE will offer to install for you. It makes kern...

I believe this is a Kubuntu upstream issue. What happens if you reboot with the drive plugged in? My guess would be that it will show up in Dolphin.

Hello.

Can you see your pendrive mounted in Dolphin if you leave the pendrive plugged into your PC and reboot?

Re: I accidently deleted my mint menu!

Hi JessiRay. Just right-click on your panel somewhere and select Panel Options > Add Widgets. One of the 1st entries should be "Application Launcher Menu". That should get you back. There's also a section in the Widgets Menu called Application Launchers with a few other options as well, if...

I'm not sure, I don't normally use OOo. But when I tried to check. OOo appears to be borked on my system. If I try to run any of the OOo apps, I get the following output from Konsole: james@MintPC ~ $ ooffice -impress james@MintPC ~ $ X-Error: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) Major o...

Re: Who else is itching for Mint Debian KDE?

Honestly, I'm not itching. I rather like the fact that Mint KDE is based on Kubuntu, as I think the Kubuntu devs are adding a lot of things to the KDE experience, especially of late. I'd hate to lose them. I'm speaking of the upcoming enhancements to KPackageKit and the addition of UbuntuOne for KDE...

Read the news item here. So far, I'm very impressed! Especially the Last.fm integration and podcast support. Instructions for installing in LM KDE are in the post as well.

Photo is here :)

Rock on.

Try running alsamixer from within Konsole and moving right until you see the "Mic" setting. Make sure it's turned all the way up and re-test.

Re: Mint-Kde Configuration error

I believe if you remove packages that are in Mint-Meta-KDE, bad things can happen. It's not like installing KDE from scratch, apparently. Though I have not tried it, what happens if you try:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install mint-meta-kde
Short of that, you may just want to re-install...
