You can also just right-click on the desktop to get to Screensavers and Wallpapers, including access to KGetHotNewStuff dialogues.

Enjoy KDE!

Re: Installing virtualbox 3.2.8 guest additions Linux Mint K

How are you adding the users? Via System Settings, or the command line? If it's the former, you could try adding a user through the command line and seeing if it sticks. If it works, I'd file a bug report with Kubuntu or at least ask them if it's a 'buntu thing or if it's a KDE thing. Guide taken fr...

Re: Broken package message after update

I had the same problem after upgrading to KDE 4.5.1 as explained elsewhere in this forum. All I did to fix it was: sudo apt-get update (And got the broken packages message like you, with nothing showing in Synaptic) sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get dist-upgrade All was fixed, and without using the ...

Re: Showstopper when it comes to recommending Mint Kde

After a non-clean reboot my network connection tray icon says "wireless network disabled" which seems fine, because you think that you merely have to find out where to switch it on again. But here is the showstopper: there is nowhere that you can turn it on again, at least that I can find...

Re: Mint KDE Sucks

How come there are so many hardware compatibility issues with KDE Mint, and NONE with Gnome? AFAIK, there really is only one major one at the moment. Info on why and what happened can be found here and here . Hopefully, this will all be fixed soon. Keep in mind, it's only certain combinations of ke...

One of the oddest things ever! And funny, too. Glad it worked though. lol.

PS - If you think about it, link the bug report back to this thread. It would be interesting to follow, to say the least.

Re: Mint KDE Sucks

If Mint KDE has so many issues as you claim, you'd think there would be tons of "Mint KDE sucks" threads by now. Me thinks there's another reason you're having so many problems with Mint KDE. I would have to agree - something seems to be wrong here somewhere... Here's a list of other thin...

Re: Mint Menu for KDE?

i have to admit that the "Kickoff" Menu is not bad at all Thanks, I was beginning to think I was the only person who likes the Kickoff menu! It's funny - Out of all the things people who try to complain about with KDE, the kickoff menu usually isn't one of them. But then, as mentioned ear...

Re: Mint Menu for KDE?

Who needs menus? <alt>+<F2>+Type Application Name works just great and 100% faster than using any kind of menu or dock. 8) Short of that I also use the search box on the default KDE Kicker Menu as it is way faster than clicking icons in menus and sub-menus, as I usually know the name of the applicat...

Re: KDE system theme and alternate IM client

Well, google video apparently works with linux (and it's not flashed based like in OSX and windoze). Awesome, right? 8) When I go to system settings, I don't see "workspace appearance" as a option. I tried typing it in the search bar as well. "appearance" is an option, but that'...

Re: KDE system theme and alternate IM client

HI keljaden. For theming options in Mint KDE, simply go to System Settings > Workspace Appearance > Desktop theme. A few are installed by default, and hundreds are available for download. As for the messenger client, that depends on which IM protocols you use. If all you use is MSN, you might want t...

System Settings > Application Appearance > GTK+ Appearance should give you options to play with. Good luck.

But you can in Kubuntu 10.04. This IS THE KMint forum.. rec9140 - I don't see a problem with that post. The OP was asking about proprietary nVidia drivers. So the answer was relevant. I could see saying something if the thread was hijacked, but it wasn't. We'll all FOSS people here, and everyone sh...

Re: Music on Web Browser wont play...

On a lot of Kubuntu / Mint KDE installs, for some reason, the system volume might be down for some reason. Whenever I do an install, checking alsamixer from terminal is always a to-do before it leaves to go to it's owner. I learned this the hard way. No idea what causes it, of if it happens also wit...

Re: Mint 9 KDE RC a dog

I get that there are some cool KDE apps out there, but I don't think the bloat is worth the trouble. OK, you indicated you were a Gnome person, now you have confirmed it. So, what was the point. The only thing I'll add is there is a lot of cases where KDE uses LESS resources than Gnome. QT is much ...
