Hi,

notification area is what you need to add from "add to panel"
try right clicking to the left of the clock a bit and it should give
you panel options.

I have a computer that I run Mint5 lts on (since it came out) so, I will be upgrading that machine to Mint9 lts :)
also my laptop that is running Mint7 will make the jump to 9 as well. :mrgreen:

I'm not 100% sure because I don't use XFCE Mint but it might be fusesmb creating the network folder.... first check Settings->Settings Manager->Autostarted apps . look for startfuse or something similar and disable it. if that doesn't do the trick then you might want to try checking your /etc/module...

I had it as %r which also sets the clock to 12 hour format
but was not aware of %D or %A

the two top distro's IMO are:

1. LinuxMint - for ootb functionality and user friendliness Mint is unmatched!

2. ArchLinux - for build it yourself/custom config Arch is unmatched!

skyrocket is in the rss-glx package.

from the terminal:

sudo apt-get install rss-glx
or search for it in synaptic.
