Re: Xfce 4.10

After adding the Repository, I went for update in synaptic by reloading several times, but couldn't find anything upgradable connected to XFCE in the list displayed! Well could it be my Internet connection, or Country preference servers, like as I am in India, or Why is this happening!

Re: Xfce 4.10

All the relevant Xfce 4.10 packages are now in the Experimental repository. I've just had a go at a complete upgrade, and so far it appears to have gone through with no problems. In addition to upgrading the various packages with "xfce4" in the package name to v.4.10.0-1, it's also necessary to upg...

Re: XFCE 4.10 for LMDE 64

Upgrading from a repository is much easier than compiling from source. You can upgrade from a repository right now (the Debian Experimental repository), as I explained in the other forum thread I mentioned. If you need more help with that, I will do my best. If you are especially keen on compiling ...

Dear, I was looking for a 'how to' for compiling from source code, how it is done, and is it possible in the latest release of LMDE AMD64. If it is possible to build it from source, why do ...

Re: 3G HSPA USB Modem not recognized by Mint 10

I have never used a USB modem, but I have seen a number of threads regarding them, and contributed to some of those threads. Most suggest installing the usb-modeswitch and usb-modeswitch-data packages. Some of the USB modems must be configured using Windows. See this post: http://forums.linuxmint.c...

Re: 3G HSPA USB Modem not recognized by Mint 10

Hi! After having tested more than half a dozen 3G USB modems: ZTE - big problem, Huawei: no problem; Huawei modems were recognized immediately - no program to install or tricky proceeding. If "lsusb" doesn't display the modem -> difficult to solve. Read more: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p...

Re: Mobile Broadband - Why so tricky?

Since the release of Mint 8 there have been a number of posts about problems with mobile broadband modems, I have had problems with them myself. The point of this post is not to try and solve these problems but to illustrate what a potential minefield it is. (Incidentally my 'solution' to this prob...
