On desktop right click > Change Background > Themes > edit however you wish.

Is this what you mean?

Re: Inkscape crashing on startup

Same problem as before except this time there's no error message; it just simply crashes the second it starts. Terminal produces: ...................................... (inkscape:4152): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_misc_set_alignment: assertion `GTK_IS_MISC (misc)' failed (inkscape:4152): Gtk-CRITICAL **: g...

Inkscape crashing on startup

In LMDE, Inkscape is crashing with the message, "Inkscape encountered an internal error and will close now." Output: (inkscape:2849): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_misc_set_alignment: assertion `GTK_IS_MISC (misc)' failed (inkscape:2849): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_misc_set_alignment: assertion `GTK_IS_MISC (misc)...

Re: Best Mint9 for SubNotebook ???

The GNOME edition should be fine, but if you do not mind configuring stuff/learning a bit, LMDE (Debian Edition) might be better.

Re: Flash = No Sound

Try removing pulseaudio. It'll use ALSA instead, and that works well for me :)

*Stable* dock that does not require compiz to be enabled?

I enjoy using a dock on GNOME, but I tend to have one major problem.. compiz sucks up my resources, slows things down and causes crashes. Not to mention it overheats my laptop and prevents me from gaming/multitasking easily. I love docks and I would like to use a stable dock that doesn't require com...

Arrrgh download rates with package management...

It's way too slow! It's a long wait to install even the smallest of packages due to the >20 kb/s I usually get. Sometimes I'm lucky and reach 65 kb/s. I tried to install a 3 MB package today. It took close to 2 minutes. I won't even tell you when I was last able to update! Is there a reason why debi...

Camera not detected.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue with my "Canon PowerShot SX120 IS" camera on LMDE. When I had Ubuntu, Mint 9 and Sabayon, the camera would instantly be detected and mount. If I were to use Ubuntu, I'd plug the camera in via USB port and turn it on. That would bring up a window asking me to import to F...

Been using Iceweasel since I read these posts... beta 5 looking good.

Can't wait for the global menu to support non-GTK apps though... firefox + openoffice are so out of place :(

Firefox 4 Beta

Just wondering if there's any way to install upgrade to Firefox 4 Beta from 3.6. Any PPA or the like for this? I know I can just download it from the mozilla site, but I kinda want to do it the "debian" way :)

Re: If Linux Mint disappeared tomorrow, what would you use?

- I'd probably try out Debian Testing, since I enjoy LMDE so much. - Another choice would be OpenSUSE. I hate it to death, but I love it when it actually works.. which can be painfully hard sometimes. - Fedora.. if it's stable enough. I don't want more crashing like last time, costing me some docume...

Re: 3D Performance - Another Reason to Move Away from Ubuntu

I get much better FPS on LMDE than I did on Mint7-9 and Ubuntu 7.10-10.04 Sabayon had the best, though. But I quickly became tired of stupid issues and a horrible community telling me I was retarded when I asked for help, especially when I commented I used Mint/Ubuntu in the past. Ubuntu would alway...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10's light themes?

Nice, thanks!

Only problem is that the theme is slightly outdated, but surely it's better than the ones in Mint currently.

Although I am not a fan of Ubuntu, their light themes are too good to ignore.
