Re: Top 10 Google Chrome features to boost your productivity

Google Chrome is spyware. Nothing more. Have you got any hard data or facts to back up that assertion? The tracking mechanisms in Chrome are upfront and can in fact be easily disabled by the user. Whereas SpyWare is hidden from the user and often cannot easily be disabled. Spyware may have been a b...

Re: Keep Gimp in Mint 9!

I use terminal most of the time. I use Synaptic every so often. Just seems the ease of use (GUI) is condusive to new Linux users. Not a "dumbing down" so to speak.

As for DVD's, they are fine with me. In many cases, they can be cheaper than CD's. I don't understand the hate for DVD's.

Re: Top 10 Google Chrome features to boost your productivity

Google Chrome is spyware. Nothing more. If you want a Chrome browser, find one of the open source derivitaves. They almost certainly do not containg the crap that Google spys with.

Re: Keep Gimp in Mint 9!

This decision, if it comes to fruition is just another example of Ubuntu turning itself into something more and more akin to Windows with every release, and especially the incremental "dumbing-down" of the release with every new release. It may soon come time for me to make my way back to Slackware...

Are you using a CRT monitor? The difference is fairly obvious on an LCD.

Re: live streaming of radio stations

Listen, I might be way off base here But I am not getting a choice when trying to open the music player All I can say is that I have the 2 choices as shown in the image above. My "shock" was that you asked if I was in Windows or Linux. I wouldn't have poisted results if I was in Windows. That would...

"Show In Favorites" Not Working

Hi All,

I installed Miro. Opened mintMenu and right-clicked "Show In Favorites". Id did not show. After logging out and back in, it still does not show up. I restarted the computer and still not showing.

What media player are you using?
I went to the link you posted, hit "listen live", then of the 2 choices, I picked Windows Media Player as Silverlight is not yet compatible with Linux (as far as I know).

Solid operating system. Indeed, a solid OS. But I still need the actual ISO for Helena. I hope one will be availabl...
