Re: Encryption software before cloud upload..?

Well, I've used it. In the right hands any encryption is hackable eventually.

Ccrypt in the repos is cli only, but very easy to use. You can drag and drop files into the terminal. Downside would be decrypting on another system.

Spend a little time and learn how to backup/image your system so that if an update creates a problem you can easily get back to a working state.

Google Clonezilla and Redobackup.

Re: 3 distros on one SSD?

I only use 15GB per distro - and save important data to another external usb drive, so, 85GB is plenty.

Just to be safe, remember to image backup your system prior to upgrading. Clonezilla or Redobackup will suffice.

Re: System restore for Mint?

The best way is to regularly image your system. Tools such as Clonezilla, Redobackup can accomplish this. It' s best to forget the windows way of thinking and learn linux by googling and using the search facility in the forum.

Refracta Tools will install and work in mint17, I have done it. It needs package "live-config-upstart.deb" as a dependency.

Refracta Tools will install and work in mint16 out of the box, 17 needs live-config-upstart.deb as a dependency.

Re: How can I make a liveDVD from my current installation?

Your post is initally for help to make a live DVD of your current installation which Refracta has done.

I am unable to help you with VB issues - not a program I use.

Perhaps someone with more VB knowledge than I can help you.

Re: How can I make a liveDVD from my current installation?

Download and install the Refracta Tools - not the operating system. You will be able to create a bootable backup .iso of your running linux system using Refracta Snapshot which can then be burnt to DVD. I posted this link in an earlier reply - have a read. http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f...

Remastersys is no longer maintained - Refracta Tools will do the job!
