Re: Linux Mint 8 KDE RC1 Bug topic

Usse. The md5sum is correct. I read on another post some one had the same problem on an external HDD, he said it formats the drive but the progress bar remains to zero, same case as mine.

Re: Linux Mint 8 KDE RC1 Bug topic

Downloaded from servers because torrents wasn't working at that time. Burned ISO and booted from DVD. I can't install the OS, it fails to format the partition. For any reason Partition Manager is not working properly on my external USB HDD. Gparted has no problems on creating and formating the parti...

Re: The Helena KDE Waiting Room

I had the partition ready since Christmas and a bottle of bubbly in the cooler to celebrate when the final release is downloaded and installed. I can see great reviews and success of this OS. Thanks Boo in advance. :D

Re: Setting time of day on installation

DrHU, thanks for the information. Some times you scratch your head thinking how difficult is to correct in Linux what appears to be a simple problem, like setting the time properly. This problem has been in Linux for ever.

Skype 2.1 webcam

I was gratefully surprised when I opened Skype in Linux Mint 8 and the web-cam worked...however in a mirror effect; what it should be right displayed left. In Ubuntu 9.10 the only way that I was able to run the cam on Skype was running it with a script, however it displayed the picture properly. Doe...

Setting time of day on installation

I live in Toronto, Easter Time Zone (-5) I had a hard time setting the clock since it keep changing my system time to the wrong Time Zone every time I tried to set it up. The only way I could correct the problem was by synchronizing the time with an Internet Server. Same problem occurred with Ubuntu...

Re: Missing Operating System - USB

I'm running Helena on a 8GB flash driver since last night using the following instructions found in here: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-linux-mint-7-flash-drive-creation-windows/ The tool for Linux Mint 8 has not been created yet so you need to use the one for Linux Mint 7. Rename the ISO to Linu...
